I was born and grew up in Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand. I spent most of my childhood and teenage years in the theatre and my passion was to become an actress. I was a founding member of the Northland Youth Theatre and after leaving high school I studied for a diploma in drama at the Northland Polytechnical Institute. I then attended the Academy of Television and Film Acting in Auckland and also trained with the Auckland Shakespeare company. My career as an actress was developing and I was offered several walk on parts in local New Zealand dramas and soaps and did several television commercials. Between jobs I worked in restaurants as a waitress / wine steward and also as a community support officer for the NZIHC (the New Zealand equivalent of MENCAP). In 1988 I was offered the female lead role in a film for Television New Zealand. I thought that was it and that acting would be what I would do for the rest of my life. However, in 1990 I allowed myself to follow my other passion - travel. I intended on returning back to New Zealand after a couple of years travelling and continue my acting career, but all the experiences the big wide world and everything in it had to offer won me over. I travelled extensively between 1990 and 2000 and have been to 29 countries, first working my way around in restaurants and bars in London, Manchester, Spain, Switzerland and Florida, USA. I spent two summers working as a camp counsellor for adults with learning difficulties in Cold Spring, New York with Camp America. I have also worked in nursing homes and special units for the elderly with senile dementia in Stockport and Styal, Cheshire. I then settled in Manchester - as it was the place I always kept coming back to - and worked for seven years for a large credit card company in various positions, including one that took me to Bangalore, India for two months. My last position with the company was as a Business Analyst, then an announcement was made that the Manchester office was closing and we were all made redundant. So I took that as an opportunity to retrain and do something that would ignite a passion in me again.
Why did I choose to become a therapist? Well, I came to the point where I felt I'd had my share of adversities and experienced enough of life's trials and tribulations and I reflected on where I was as far happiness, fulfillment and sense of worth was concerned. I found myself at a place where I wanted to give something back and do something that will help make other peoples world a happier, easier, more successful and fulfilled place for them to be in.
So I signed up for a diploma course in Advanced Holistic Hypnotherapy with Costa Lambrias and Ray and Julie Jenkinson at the Manchester Academy of Holistic Hypnotherapy Manchester, England and qualified in October 2007.
In November 2007 I obtained Level I and II EFT Practitioner Certification. In July 2008 I gained Level III Certification all through training with Tania Prince Manchester, England.
In September 2008 I gained Soul Retrieval Therapist Certification through training with Costa Lambrias at Soul Concern Manchester, England.
In June 2009 I gained Deep State Re-Patterning certification through training with its developer Tania Prince Manchester, England.
In September 2009 I gained a diploma in NLP through training with NLP Excellence Manchester, England.
They were the best decisions I have ever made. It has change my world beyond words.
Now I am here to help you make positive changes in yours.
